The project consists of two park buildings; a picnic shelter and a warming house/community room.  The two buildings are located in a vibrant neighborhood park and have high visibility from the community.

The architectural identity was a main focus for this project and sets a benchmark for
future park buildings in St. Louis Park.  The silhouette of the green metal roof defines the building from a distance.  The warming house connects the outdoors to the interior with large expanses of glass and provides visibility and security.  Custom etched glass was used at different locations to create an artistic statement within the neighborhood.

The warming house provides about 750 square feet of dedicated community space and incorporates an office and storage room.  The interior circulation is controlled to allow public restroom access year round.  The picnic shelter has over 1,500 square feet of open space with access to a fireplace, hospitality sink, storage, and future restrooms.
